Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the passport & visa photo service offered through this website (the “Service”), provided by Prime Axis LLP (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a Singapore-registered limited liability partnership with registered office at 69 Telok Blangah Heights, #02-279, Singapore 100069.

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Passport Photo is a software tool that helps you produce digital photographs sized and formatted for passport, visa, and similar government applications across multiple countries. The Service uses machine-learning models on our servers to remove the background from your photo and composite it on a solid background colour of your choice.

Passport specifications are curated from publicly available official government sources on the date indicated in each country's spec entry. We do our best to keep them current, but you are responsible for verifying the current requirements with the issuing authority before submitting an official application.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom) to use the Service. If you are submitting a photo of a minor, you must be the parent or legal guardian, or have explicit authorisation from one.

3. Pricing and billing

3.1 Free preview

You can use the Service at no cost to generate a watermarked preview. The watermark prevents the preview from being used in an official application.

3.2 Paid download

Single photo — US$4.99. A one-time purchase that entitles you to download the clean, watermark-free photo for one country specification. The download link remains active for 7 days.

Prices are in US Dollars and exclude any applicable taxes (sales tax, VAT, GST). Stripe will calculate and collect applicable taxes where required. Prices may change; changes apply only to new purchases.

3.3 Billing descriptor

Charges on your card or bank statement will appear as PRIME AXIS (or PRIME AXIS* PASSPORT on supporting card networks). For billing questions, email hello@primeaxis.digital.

3.4 Payment processor

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Services Agreement and Privacy Policy.

4. Refunds

We offer a fair-use refund policy:

  • Spec inaccuracy: if your photo is rejected by the issuing passport authority and the rejection is due to an inaccuracy in the country specification on our Service on the date of purchase, we will refund 100% of the price. Send your rejection notice (redacted as needed) to hello@primeaxis.digital within 30 days of the rejection.
  • Technical failure: if we fail to deliver a usable download within 24 hours of a successful payment, we will refund 100%.
  • Change of mind: because the Service delivers a personalised digital product immediately on payment, we do not otherwise offer refunds. If you believe your case is exceptional, contact us — we will consider requests in good faith.

5. Your content and licence

You retain all rights in the photo you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  1. transmit your photo to our processing servers and run background-removal and face-detection models against it for the sole purpose of producing the output you requested;
  2. store the resulting composed output only as long as needed to deliver your download after payment (see our Privacy Policy for retention details).

We do not use your photo for marketing, model training, or any other purpose.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service:

  • to create a photo of anyone other than yourself without their informed consent;
  • to commit identity fraud, impersonation, or document forgery;
  • to produce images that are unlawful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • to reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass the paywall;
  • to transmit viruses, malware, or any code designed to harm the Service or its users.

We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if we reasonably believe you are violating these rules.

7. No warranty of acceptance

We do not guarantee that photos produced by the Service will be accepted by any particular passport, visa, or identity authority. Requirements change, local agents apply discretion, and physical factors (lighting, pose, expression) in your uploaded photo may lead to rejection. You acknowledge this before paying.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including all software, text, graphics, and trademarks (other than your photo and its derived outputs), is owned by Prime Axis LLP or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Open-source components are used under their respective licences; a list is available on request.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Stripe (payments), Modal Labs (GPU compute), Google (Firebase hosting and storage), Neon (database), and PostHog (analytics). We are not responsible for the performance, policies, or pricing of those providers beyond our use of their APIs.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (but not limited to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, in which case this clause applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Prime Axis LLP, its partners, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US$50.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law (for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Prime Axis LLP against any third-party claim arising from (a) your uploaded photo, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of applicable law or of the rights of a third party.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if continuing to offer the Service becomes commercially impracticable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. sections 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14) will do so.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Singapore, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction that grants you the right to bring disputes in your local courts, nothing in this clause limits those rights.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by a prominent notice on this website. Your continued use of the Service after the changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

16. Entire agreement; severability

These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder will remain in full force.
